Who are MAPanorak?

I was introduced to antique maps by a work colleague, Mr Paul Laming in 1986, when I purchased a couple of dissected (mounted in sections) Ordnance Survey maps for framing, dated from the 1920’s.  This type of map is rare, and it was the most expensive design when originally published. The maps generally came as folded on paper, folded on cloth, or dissected. The dissected maps have cloth intersections rather than folds, and are much better for framing as the folds do not stand out and they look more impressive and antique in nature.

I then tried to find similar maps in other areas for my parents, but found it very hard to find what I wanted, let alone what I wanted in excellent condition.

What Paul and myself can offer you here is a one stop shop for virtually mint condition, original dissected maps covering the whole country. These maps are all originals, many of which are over 100 years old, so in some cases a little blemish is inevitable, but we do offer a full money back return policy.

The prices for these maps are relatively expensive, but they do make unique presents or beautiful items to frame yourself, and as we have found out, with the small original print runs you may never find the map of your area, however much you search. We do have some duplicates, but many will be single copies, especially if you are not in a tourist location where there were often more maps printed.

This collection has taken us 20 years to assimilate at a great cost in time and expense, although we have had some fun on our travels round the country.

For the collector, we have a collectors corner section with lists of over 4000 collectable old maps, all of which are at least reasonable to very good condition. We must be able to fill in some gaps for virtually every collector.

Thanks for your time and I hope we have something of interest for you.
