Having been a specialist supplier and installer in Scotland for over 15 years we have seen a lot in the industry, some exceptional innovations and products and we have been at the forefront selling and installing these products.
In the past couple of years many specialist manufactures products have found there way onto the internet for sales, but the type of products being sold require installation and I don't think computers are able to do that just yet.
We have embraced the sales online ourself but we constantly like to get the message out that as specialists in our field of sales and installations it is not the ideal medium to purchase from.
You cannot hear the enhanced sound that new products will produce in your car, you cannot see the amazing picture quality from a quality screen compared to the tat from ebay and china and you cannot see how a proper navigation system operates in a car being driven.
We have as a result of the massive online pricing policy of "box shifters" had to call for change from the manufactures to enable us to compete on a level playing field as the e-retailers.
Our prices have never been so competitive but still find that alot of people run to the likes of Halfords for sales advice and installation. Unlike Halfords we have full time staff here 5 days a week able and capable of all matters that involve sales and installation in our custom made installation centre and not under a gazebo, a week next Julember.
I cannot stress enough that as cars become more and more complex that taking your car to your mate or part time installers that a drama is just around the corner and you could be left with a whopper of a bill to put you car right especially if you had a go yourself.
We intend to be around for the years ahead but unless the mentality of purchasing online does not change then there will not be companies like us left to do your install or give you proper advice on what products you need that work and fit.
